Brother from another mother

There are times when I should check my messages more often. Like the time when my friend, Seth, tried to tell me he was coming into town for a visit, only to finally get a hold of me on his 4th day here. Whoops!

I met him when I was 16 while I was working at my first job at the mall, selling tacky things like lava lamps and hippie doorway beads. We even worked together for a few years (at my current job). When I do the math on how long we've known each other - whoa! that's a long time! So, I consider him a friend of the lifer variety, which is why I also refer to him as my "brotha' from another mother." Or maybe the same mother, because I sometimes think I'm black. Okay, so that's a whole other story and inside joke.

Anyway, it's always so good to catch up with a long time friend, picking up where we left off and all that jazz. Tulsa actually has gotten a lot cooler since he's left, so I had to take him to a few places to prove it.

We ate at one of my favorite spots, Dilly Deli! It's the cutest restaurant with amazing food (my favorite sandwich is called the Michael Roy).

We then walked over to Lee's bike shop to drool over potential cruisers and close by was a mural of George Clinton that I knew I needed to show him!

Last stop was the new record shop, cleverly named The Vinyl Countdown. Man, that's a good name. I can't really get over how witty that is. They've only been opened for about a month now, but their stock is nothing short of amazing. I had to tell the owners how impressed I was... especially when they had a rare album by Karate that Seth bought from under me. Like a gentlemen, but I forgive him. ;)

My weekend will be filled up with more Seth time and that makes me so happy! And the Vintage Tulsa Show event is also this weekend, so hopefully I can squeeze in some time for that. My money is disappearing from my bank account just from thinking about it...

I hope you've got some fun things planned! I'm prepping tonight for a big event (more on that later), watching the 20/20 special on Whitney Houston (so tragic), & waiting on hubs to get home so we can get some late night pizza at Andolini's. :)
