Lately, Pt. 2

Lately, I was able to put in a little bit of knitting time before Valentine's day. I truly wish I had more time to dedicate myself to my craft but I haven't yet found that perfect balance in life. I'm getting there, though. Anyway, I used to design knitting charts for fun and it had been a long time since, so I decided a Valentine's-themed hat was a must. This seemed like a good year-round design, though. So yay for being able to make more after the holiday!

Okay, so I need to get something off my chest. I... love... babies. I might be coming down with what some might call "baby fever." I never thought I would ever say this. Like, ever. If you knew me just a few years ago, I was pretty much anti-children. Kinda like the old hag in your neighborhood that would hiss & shake her cane at the kids walking on her lawn. I can now say that the old, bitter hag is dead and I seriously LOVE ME SOME BABIES.

One of my best friends just came back from visiting her family in Japan, and I was excited to catch up! We're pretty much each other's only Asian friend, so we gotta stick together. Like white on rice.. har har. Sorry... Anyway, so I love getting to see her and her precious 10-month old baby.

We had crepes and coffee at Mod's and visited one of my favorite shops downtown.

You guys, we're all getting older! I recently celebrated my friend's 30th birthday (the mutemath fanatic)! He was actually really excited to be 30, unlike most 20-somethings I know (including myself), but hoorah for being older, anyway! I'm so glad I got to see him tie the knot last October and to celebrate his first day being 30.

Last but definitely not least, I had to say "see you later" to one of my best friends who moved away to Florida. Esther was a friend who just completely understood me. I will never forget the memories we shared, from our mini-roadtrip to Springfield to do a photo shoot with Elsie to our cross-country roadtrip to California. She has a knack at making every moment in life unforgettable. She encourages me to seek God more and to truly be myself, uninhibited and unabashed. I'm so blessed to have her in my life.
