1. Birthday Celebrations
I started off the month celebrating my husband's 34th birthday. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Since when did he become an old geezer? Juuuuuust kidding! Kinda. I mean, I'm still in my 20's (late, mind you), but I always feel like my birthdays are being skipped! How am I not in my 30's by now, yet you're nearing your MID-30's. Haha. The things that go through my mind. The only tradition we have with his birthday is going to the movies & eating sushi. A fine tradition, in my opinion. So let's not fix something that's not broken, right?
Trippy, I know. This was accidental, but I liked it, kept it, & now my eyes are hurting.
I never tire of eating sushi. I could say that I'm craving it 75% of my waking life. It runs in my blood. Anyway, we then went to see Wanderlust. Okay, this has got to be one of my favorite movies I've seen as of late. I laughed SO HARD I was in tears. And I didn't hold back. I mean, obnoxious belly-laughing till I was keeling over people. No shame, I tell ya. I kept on recognizing actors from the old comedy skit show, The State, and realized why I loved it so much. David Wain, you are the man. Ended the day watching the Lakers win their game. Ted was a happy boy.
2. St. Patty's Day Celebrations
I don't usually go all out on this particular holiday, but this year I joined in on the festivities held on my street. The really great thing about living in my neighborhood during an event like this is that I get to use my own bathroom. Hooray to that, I say! I was really excited to find out that one of my favorite local bands was playing that night, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. If you dig avant-garde type of jazz, you should check them out. With a new addition of a slide guitar player, their sound has evolved into something they refer to as Red Dirt Jazz. They're pretty great!
For someone to claim their favorite color is green, I sure do lack it in my wardrobe. But this was the best I could do (that passed the sniff test):
See? There's some green! ;)
Here are a few shots of St. Patty's on Cherry St.:
My favorite pub!
It wouldn't be right if I didn't spot a man in his kilt... with pigtails.
Herro, handsome!
Things were getting a bit cray as the night went on - as expected when you run into more and more people you know, but it was the funnest St. Patty's to date, for sure.
It also marks my anniversary of consigning at the downtown shop, Dwelling Spaces. So, double the reasons to celebrate on this day!
3. Hunting for a House Celebrations
I call it a celebration because finally, finally, finally after 3 years of "searching" for a house, talking about a house, dreaming about a house, it's about to actually come true sometime this year. We are hitting it hard. So I'm celebrating the fact that we've decided to finally become homeowners! The fire was lit under our rears when some friends purchased an amazing home recently. It totally inspired us and now I'm working with a realtor to make it happen. Maybe even by this summer! Eek! As much as I want a candy-colored, mod explosion of a styled home, I am married to a man. That means I have to compromise a little so my husband won't feel emasculated walking into an all-pink house. But some of our ideal homes would look like these:

I know that God will find the perfect house, in the perfect location for us. I'm so excited and will definitely keep you guys posted!
4. Giving My Notice Celebrations
Yup, it's about dang time. More on this later. But to give you the gist, I finally put in my two weeks notice at the bookstore. This is a big deal because I've been there for almost 10 years. CRAZY, I KNOW. And I assure you, the math is right! Yes, I'm still in my 20's to reiterate, but it was a bittersweet moment writing my resignation letter. I've been celebrating my leap of faith ever since because it was a scary thing to leave something you're so comfortable with that was so stable; working with people you consider family at a place you call your second home. This Thursday is officially my last day. I expect cake, people.
